Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Francesco displayed an early eye for the arts and for whatever was visually interesting. Always searching for a way to let out his creativity and after a year in the Italian Armed Forces, he eagerly moved to America in 1990 to begin his formal training in the Commercial Arts.
After graduating in June of 1992 from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Advertising Design and Computer Graphics, Francesco took his talents and creative thinking to DMB&B New York, one of the top 10 Advertising Agencies Worldwide. As a young Art Director, he created Ads for the Burger King and Coca-Cola.
After leaving DMB&B and after a brief time as digital aid to a group of illustrators, he designed Ads, posters and brochures for AT&T Wireless, Oxford Healthcare and K-Rock Radio. He also managed to combine his passion for Computer Graphics and interactivity, creating Multimedia presentations on CD-ROMs.
Francesco’s Multimedia career further developed with the advent of the Internet. While freelancing at Grey Advertising in New York City, he helped developing the award winning Cover Girl Interactive Web site.
In 1997, after leaving New York City, he moved to Long Island to work for Seaman's Furniture, a retail company with stores and operations Nation wide.
His main task was to redefine their Corporate Image, Advertising and most importantly, to create their Website. During his time at Seaman's, Francesco also designed the logo and brand identity of a new division named Seaman’s Kids Furniture.
It was Francesco's vision and idea to push Seaman's to finally have their own Websites.
While working on the Seaman's Furniture Websites with a team of developers, he realized that the Web was his calling quickly accepting an invitation to join Infrastructure Design as their Art Director and Lead Designer. A year later the company had outgrown their location in Garden City, New York. Infrastructure Design changed name to Media Jelly and moved to New York City.
Working with clients such as Scholastics on properties like Animorphs, the Magic School Bus, and many other destination for kids, Francesco was able to hone is craft and reap the benefits of working with other talented developers.
While at Media Jelly, Francesco designed Websites for the 20Th Century Fox movies "Dr. Do Little 2" and "Shallow Hal." The last project with Media Jelly was the Website design for the PBS hit TV series "Maya and Miguel".
In 2001, Francesco moved back to Long Island working for Malco Gifts and Regina Press designing Websites, catalogs, packaging and book covers. He is their Business-to-Business Website Administrator, Lead Designer, and Developer.
In 2003, Francesco decided to expand his technical toolset by flying to Tennessee and signing up for a 12 week long course to learn Maya, a leading 3D software application. Upon his return to New York, he co-founded Vision Den Inc., a small Design company. Francesco managed all the business operations including quality control and client relations. He directed creative and technical teams on interactive and traditional Design projects. He negotiated budgets, prepared estimates and created strategies based on client goals and needs. While working at Vision Den, he designed the visual identity and the Websites for the company as well as other clients like Classic Du Jour, the band Halestorm, In De Goot and more.
In 2009, due to ever increasing family responsibilities and more time needed from Malco and Regina Press, Vision Den was put to rest...
Francesco currently lives and works in Long Island. When he is not busy creating new Websites or designing logos as Francesco Sardoni Design (FSD), he enjoys spending time with his children and riding his Kawasaki.
